Add New User

When adding new users please be aware of the distinction between a user that CAN or CANNOT login. Users that need to have devices checked out to them can be added into K12 Asset Pro without login enabled. If a user is granted login access but is not granted any access permissions, when they log in they will have access only to see a list of assets currently checked out to them.

1) On the left side navigation select Users.

 

2) In the upper right corner select the Create New button.

 

3) Enter all relevant user information such as
– Name
– Username (we recommend using their email address)
– Password (you can manually create a password or use the “Generate” button to randomly generate a password)
– Email

If you would like have the system send an automatic welcome email with their login information and crednetials to the new user please select the “Email this user their credentials”

4) You can expand the “Additional Information” section to access additional data fields.

4a) User Restrictions: Restrict a user’s access by Site, Asset Category, Departments

4b) User information such as School ID, Title, Grade, Insurance (if student has pre-paid for device insurance), etc.

5) To set individual user permissions (without selecting a permission group) click on the Permissions tab at the top of the edit page to open up the permissions settings. Then click the “Save” button. Note: “Inherit” will default to no permissions for that category unless a permissions group has been selected.
