You can update assets in bulk in K12 Asset Pro by importing changes with a spreadsheet. Please be aware that when uploading spreadsheets you must save your file in .CSV format and you must have an Asset Tag column.
(Looking to upload New assets? See our guid for that here: https://divotassets.com/knowledge-base/importing-assets)
Before you start, check your upload file!
When uploading a spreadsheet to perform an update you must include the Asset Tag column, but other than that you only need to include columns with data that you are going to be updating. You can remove all other columns.
Starting Your Upload
1) On the left side navigation hover over the import module icon and then click on “Import Assets”. Then in the upper right hand corner click on “Select File” and select the CSV file you have saved with your new asset information.
2) Click on the blue button to begin the import
3) For Import Type select “Assets”. You MUST also select the checkbox for Update Existing Values. You will now see how the headers of the columns in your file have been mapped to the available data fields. If any of your headers did not correctly map to the corresponding data field, simply click on the dropdown menu and select the correct data field to be updated. If everything looks good click “Import” button.
4) If any of your columns have not automatically mapped correctly you can click on the dropdown next to your header title and select the proper data field for that column to be mapped to. If everything looks good click “Import” button.
5) After you have clicked Import you will be redirected to the Import History page. After your import is completed you will see the status update to Uploaded. Your assets have now been uploaded and you are done!
6) If there were any errors in your upload file you will see a Failed message. You can then click on the blue button with the eyeball symbol to inspect what errors there were in your file. Most of the time errors are from not having a required data column such as Site or Model Name.
