Add Depreciation

Depreciation can be added to an asset either at the individual asset level or as the default for an Asset Model. To learn how to set depreciation for an asset Model Name (so that all assets created using that Model Name will have depreciation applied) please see this article: https://divotassets.com/knowledge-base/add-depreciation-default-to-model-name/

Have you set your District’s depreciation convention (Full Year, Half Year, Full Month) and fiscal year start/end? If not, see this article to set your preferences: https://divotassets.com/knowledge-base/setting-depreciation-convention/

1) Click on Create > Asset

2) Fill out all asset information. NOTE: if the asset will be depreciating then a Received Date and Purchase Cost must be completed along with the other depreciation information.

3) Select the checkbox next to “Depreciate?”. This will display data fields for Depreciation Category and Useful Life. If you would like to be able to create depreciation reports filtered by Asset Class or Function you must fill out these values as well.

4) Save your asset. This asset will now appear on your Depreciation Reports. https://divotassets.com/knowledge-base/depreciation-reports/
