The purpose of this feature is to efficiently make the same edit to a large number of assets, for example editing the Site and/or Location for a group of assets that you are transferring from one room/building to another. Another common use for this feature is if after adding a group of assets it is discovered that a piece of information was incorrect or omitted, such as the Purchase Order Number and all the assets need to be updated/corrected.
You will first set what the update/edit criteria will be for all the assets which will be saved on the scanner, then for each individual asset that you scan it will edit/update the data field(s) that you have set. If you would like to start a new Bulk Edit with different data, simply navigate back to the home screen and start a new Bulk Edit session with the updated data.
1) Navigate to Edit Bulk.
2) Select/enter the values for any data field(s) you want to edit. You can edit as many fields at once as you would like. Any fields that you leave blank will not be changed for the assets that you scan in the next step, the assets will retain their existing values for the unchanged fields.
3) Click the “Start Bulk Edit” button.
4) Scan or manually enter the Asset Tag Number for the first asset you would like to edit. This screen shows you any/all fields that will be updated on the scanned asset.
5) Click “Save and Edit Next” button.
6) A confirmation will appear showing you have successfully updated the asset. Click “OK”.
7) Scan or manually enter the next Asset Tag Number and repeat steps 4-6.
